VIRTUAL POWER PLANT
Harness, Trade, and Prosper with Blaze VPP
A virtual power plant (VPP) is a network of decentralized energy resources, such as solar panels, wind turbines, and battery storage systems, that are integrated and managed collectively through advanced software and communication technologies. By coordinating these dispersed assets, a VPP can optimize energy production, consumption, and storage, effectively functioning as a single, flexible power plant. This approach enhances grid stability and efficiency while enabling the integration of renewable energy sources. VPPs can also provide ancillary services, such as frequency regulation and demand response, contributing to a more resilient energy infrastructure. As technology advances, VPPs are expected to play a crucial role in the transition towards a more sustainable and decentralized energy system.
Think of it as the Internet of Energy.
Blaze VPP solution provides granular detail on the supply side of consumers who desire to turn into prosumers. A typical customer type here would be a residential or a commercial customer who is using renewable energy sources such as solar to generate more electricity than what is needed. This can potentially go back to the grid.
Blaze’s VPP solution gives both the consumers and the VPP operators clear visibility into the available supply that can be traded back to the Utility.
Blaze’s VPP Solution has the following components -
Raycon Energy Meter
Raycon Energy Meter by Blaze monitors energy from the grid, solar, and battery storage, delivering detailed insights into overall home energy consumption and efficiency.
AI Ready Multiprotocol Gateways
AI Ready multiprotocol gateways that gather the high frequency sampled energy data, received over Wired or Wireless interfaces in the local area network and securely send the processed data over the WAN interfaces over Wifi or Cellular Networks to the cloud for further processing.
B.One OS for VPPs
B.One OS provides consumers with clear visibility into the Energy Inflows into their establishment through a Mobile App. It further provides recommendations to the users on how much energy can be traded with the grid based on advanced AI/ML algorithms that take into account historical consumption patterns and user behavior.
B.One OS provides the VPPs with aggregate level information of all participating consumers on the current spare capacity available across their consumer base that can be traded in real time via Admin dashboards. It further provides the ability to VPPs to send nudges to consumers to remind them of the excess capacity that they could opt to trade. This is to help in cases where the VPP may not have prior agreements with individual consumers.
